Honourable Mention: Kevin Lowe (1979, EDM)

This was a close one. Kevin Lowe had a long, distinguished career, and was a major cog in the Oilers dynasty. But Rask is in the middle of a very impressive career of his own. He’s going to hit 400 wins before it’s all over, unless something with him or with Boston goes horribly wrong. While his stats over the last three seasons aren’t nearly as good as they were the previous three, there was only a sharp drop at the start, and they’ve been consistent or slightly improving since. And we’ve seen solid play well into the latter stages of their careers from plenty of goaltenders over the years. No reason to think he won’t pad his resume substantially between now and whenever he retires.
