Red Wings reportedly pursuing Russian star Ilya Kovalchuck:

We’ve heard this before and I wouldn’t put too much stock in it. 

One of my fantasies has been for Kovalchuk and Datsyuk to play together in Detroit for one last shot at a cup (even though they’re on the down-slope of their careers). 

However, In the end, I think it’s in this team’s best interest to spend wisely and play as many kids as possible.
